John Isabelle

John Isabelle is an admitted attorney and conveyancer with over 20 years of experience in the legal profession. His expertise includes commercial and general litigation, insolvency and liquidation matters, general corporate and contract law and conveyancing.

He has represented a number of high profile corporate clients in commercial, copyright and competition disputes in the High Court, Supreme Court of Appeal and Competition Tribunal as well as in numerous private arbitration proceedings
He has acted in a number of adjudications and arbitrations involving building and construction matters.

John has a Certificate (with distinction) from the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa’s Advanced Programme in Alternative Dispute Resolution (accredited by the University of Pretoria) and is a member of AFSA. He is also an associate of the Association of Arbitrators and holds a certificate (with distinction) in Advanced Construction Contracts from the University of Pretoria. He is also on the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa’s Commercial Arbitrator’s Panel.

Previous experience

John practiced as a Sole Practitioner in Kwa-Zulu Natal for 6 years, and then joined a leading Kwa-Zulu Natal law firm as a Partner for 4 years where he managed the conveyancing department. He then joined a leading Befordview firm attending to commercial and litigation matters for 4 years. He established John Isabelle Attorneys in 2010.
